The 100 years old Fournier footbridge is now being demolished and replaced by a new structure. The new footbridge spans the 120m wide rail tracks using one intermediate support in between the tracks. 2 bow-strings, 60m span each, allow pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
The challenge was to design a structure as light as possible to allow for ground prefabrication and equipement: the whole installation had to take place during only 3 night-time four-hours-long interventions.
