Carreau de Neuilly
Contracting authority : Gecina Hines
Architects : Brenac & Gonzalez & Associés
Location : Neuilly-sur-Seine
Surface area : 10 290 m² of facade
Phases : Studies : 2022 – 2024
The project is located at 108 Avenue Charles de Gaulle, in the city of Neuilly-sur-Seine. The future development consists of the refurbishment and restructuring of an existing building, known as the Carreau de Neuilly.
In particular, the scope of work includes a vertical extension and partial restructuring of the building, along with a complete upgrade of all facades.
All facades were designed with a consistent architectural approach, despite the building’s varied orientations. The design concept is a contemporary reinterpretation of a Haussmann-style building, using thin stone cladding and semi-load-bearing stone elements with varying facade thicknesses, structured through different grid compositions.
The energy performance of the building envelope, along with challenges related to working on an existing structure, such as load transfer and compatibility with the existing reinforced concrete frame were also major technical considerations in the project.
