The Perray-Vaucluse residential care home project is located on the historic site of the GHU Paris. It consists of the construction of a 96-bed facility, replacing the existing retirement home. The architectural design proposes a three-storey building (ground floor + 2 levels) that fits naturally into the sloping terrain, nestled within the woodland on the hillsides of the Orge Valley and near the existing Ginquillière care facility.
The building is composed of two wings. Featuring mineral horizontal layers, the concrete external walkways animate the facades and provide ground-level outdoor spaces for each resident.
Our expertise on this project is relevant to the building envelope scope. On the ground floor, an earthen concrete façade is planned, utilizing locally reclaimed soils. On the upper floors, a continuous timber frame façade (TTF) supports wooden cladding and ensures the building’s air and water tightness. Joinery elements are designed in wood.
Cantilevered walkways provide generous overhangs, offering protection to the façade while contributing to the long-term aesthetic durability of the wooden cladding. A zinc canopy crowns the entire structure.
