The Claude-Bernard footbridge is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the Paris ring road, linking Paris to Aubervilliers. It is located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, France.
The gateway is open since October 3, 20153. On October 5, 2016, the work won an award in the “Crossing” category at the Eiffel Steel Architecture Trophy, organized by ConstruirAcier4. The same year, it also won the Tekla France 2016 BIM competition in the “Infrastructure Projects” category5.

Elioth carried out the design studies and the production of a detailed 3D model of the steel frame and of the timber cladding. The complexity of this piece required us to develop a parametric model which determined the elements of the structure and the timber cladding down to their smallest details.
Non-repetitive components, complex dynamic behavior and restricted phasing are subjects that have mobilized all of Elioth’s expertise.
The main span of the ring road crossing was laid in a few hours on the night of May 14, 2015 by two cranes with a lifting capacity of 700 tons each. On this occasion, the ring road was cut in both directions for 3 hours, an event that had not occurred for forty years.
