At the summit of local elected representatives for the climate organized on 4 December 2015 by the City of Paris and the Bloomberg Foundation, the City of Paris signed a declaration with more than 700 mayors from all over the world stating the commitment of local governments. They are committed to working with international organizations, national governments, the private sector and civil society to address the challenge of climate change. This statement was tabled by the Mayor of Paris during Action Day at Le Bourget. Through this agreement, the City of Paris is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050 while developing a 100% renewable energy model.
To help with this thought process, the Elioth – Egis Conseil – Quattrolibri – Mana group was chosen to deliver a strategic study into the production of a carbon-free vision of Paris by 2050. This study will contribute to debate among experts and the consultation with Parisians which will contribute to the fine-tuning of the plan.
