Located within the ZAC de l’École Polytechnique development, the building stands on a continuous concrete base extending across the entire block. This structural approach addresses the significant level differences between the street and the central garden, while supporting six above-ground volumes. Given the high visibility of Lot C1.7 of the Central district, the façades of the emerging volumes have been designed using bricks and natural stone—materials rarely used as façade cladding.
In buildings A and B, all floor slabs are made of low-carbon concrete.
In buildings C, D, E, and F, the peripheral structural grid of the above-ground volumes uses timber floors. The slabs surrounding the cores are made of concrete and provide the buildings’ horizontal bracing.
The longest buildings (A and D) are built with concrete shear walls and brick facing. Buildings under 30 m in length (C, E, and F) use load-bearing maxibricks. Building B features natural stone cladding anchored to concrete walls.
