The restructuring project of the Moustoir park in Lorient aims to modernize the urban park and the Yves Allainmat Stadium located within it, which hosts numerous local sports and cultural events. The project includes the construction of a new main stand and the redevelopment of the existing facilities and stands, whose exterior envelope will be made uniform through an intervention on all facades.
The facade of the new main stand is designed to be lightweight and low in carbon impact. The opaque sections are timber-framed façades clad with wooden slats. Behind the stand, a pleated single-glass facade shields against wind and gives the Moustoir Stadium a renewed image. A lightweight steel structure supports the single-glass panels of the new façade. The design and verification of this façade structure are carried out in parallel with the development of a custom glazed façade system.
The project has strong environmental ambitions, with solutions being studied to enhance the site’s performance and quality: integrated choices of products, systems and construction methods, control of energy consumption, use of local renewable energy, management of water use and on-site stormwater management. The project’s life cycle assessment (LCA) is conducted by Elioth at all phases. The goal is to certify the building under HQE Sports Facilities standards.
