The design of the new Caen library (OMA architects) has been carried out in accordance with the requirements of the HQE standard in order to obtain BBC certification.
Elioth was responsible for the combined façade and environmental design engineering for this ambitious project.
Due to its composition with the site, its volume offering substantial natural light, its efficient envelope and its heating supplied by by seawater heat pump and summer cooling by natural ventilation, the future Caen BMVR will achieve high energy performance levels.
Thanks to its composition with the site, its volumetric massing allows for a strong natural daylight autonomy. its high-performance envelope as well as its heating by seawater heat pumps and a summer natural ventilation cooling, the future BMVR of Caen will succeed in reaching a very high energy performance level.
