A new district linking up Paris and Ivry, embracing the boulevard périphérique to make it a genuine mixed-use urban habitat, the Inventer Bruneseau project adopts a clear low-carbon posture, epitomising the Paris City Hall’s Climate Plan goals. Smart energy grids, comfortable high-rise buildings, district-scale resource pooling and the mass deployment of structural wood are the trump cards of the low-carbon engineering put to use on this project.
Work in a rational and ambitious spirit to enable wood to be used as a structural material in high-rise buildings – such is the challenge for our structure teams. The desired outcome is to replace 50% of the volume of concrete by wood, by tackling fire safety, acoustic and constructive constraints via the projects’ floor panels.
Providing buildings with facades that are materially effectuve whilst absorbing the district’s acoustic and pollution externalities and therefore guarantee comfortable living conditions for their occupants. Inventing systems tailored to high-rise buildings that also address the district’s low-carbon goals.
Design a ‘carbon-oriented’ energy smartgrid, understand and optimise the actual carbon footprint of the district by going beyond the E+C- equation, and propose bioclimatic measures fulfilling requirements in terms of comfort, air quality and the use of the area. A truly cross-disciplinary mission for our environment teams.
